Latest Amazon Prime perk: Free games via Twitch

Amazon is the master of offering free stuff in return for a yearly subscription, and that thinking is slowly spreading to Twitch, which Amazon acquired back in 2014. The latest perk for being a Prime subscriber is free games from Twitch every month.

As the Twitch blog explains, the Free Games with Prime offers comes off the back of a very successful Twitch Prime Indie Amplifier. During that promotion, viewers were asked to watch special streams and shows to learn about a number of indie games. Votes were then cast for your favorite of the games, and then on March 11 voting closed, a winner was picked, and Prime members got the winning game for free.

The promotion has now morphed into free games for all Prime + Twitch members every month starting tomorrow, March 15. If you already subscribe, expect to get Superhot and Oxenfree for free and to keep forever. Twitch also decided to offer all eight of the Indie Amplifier games for free over the next few months, with Shadow Tactics and Candlekeep: Tomb of Annihilation being the first to appear this month. Finally, Prime members will also get 2.5D beat ’em up Mr Shifty for free this month, taking the total up to five free games in March.

Twitch went ahead and announced which games will be free in April, with the line-up including:

More From PCmag

  • Tales from the Borderlands
  • SteamWorld Dig 2
  • Kingsway
  • Tokyo 42
  • Dubwars

If you are already paying for Amazon Prime, then you get Twitch Prime included. If not, then it’s worth signing up for Amazon Prime if you want these free games every month as well as all the other benefits of membership.
